Elastocon TPE Technologies Inc. has added higher-density thermoplastic elastomers to its 8055 series.
The new 8055HD grades are aimed at uses where natural rubber has been chosen because it provides extra weight, as in garbage disposal drain plugs, traffic cones, fishing gear, straps and sports and leisure goods. The HD grades also have potential medical applications because they are opaque to X-rays. Elastocon says the new grades are economical with starting prices of under $2 per pound.
The additions are colorable and feature Shore A hardnesses of 55 and 65. Like other products in the general purpose, rubber-like 8055 series, they resist scratches and marring, according to the Rochester, Ill, company. | |
